Please join the Ventura Countywide Stormwater Quality Management Program (VCSQMP) and Craftwater Engineering on July 24th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at City of Camarillo City Hall – Council Chambers (601 Carmen Dr., Camarillo CA 93010) to learn more about the development of the Ventura Countywide Watershed Management Program (WMP).
When it rains, pollutants are carried from streets and paved areas through the storm drain system to local rivers, creeks, lakes and the ocean. It is the responsibility of the ten incorporated Cities, the County and the Ventura County Watershed Protection District to keep that water clean. These agencies are working collaboratively with Craftwater Engineering to develop the WMP, which is a planning document for municipalities to use to pursue compliance with Clean Water Act surface water requirements within the urbanized areas of Ventura County.
The intent of this meeting is to provide an overview of the WMP development, being driven by the updated Regional MS4 Permit that regulates the quality of stormwater discharges from the cities and county. During this presentation, attendees will be informed on the WMP framework, how the municipalities are pursuing compliance with the water quality requirements in the watersheds, an overview of the proposed program enhancements and structural project opportunities for potential implementation, and an opportunity to receive any input on the WMP.
