Thousand Oaks Library is offering DIY Home Energy Kits to adults (18+) to check out for in-home use.

The toolkit provides tools, supplies, and information to library customers to reduce their household energy and water use. These kits are distributed by 3C-REN to participating library locations throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obisbo counties. Members of the public can check out toolkits at their local library, use the materials at home, and return the toolkit back to the library to be refilled and checked out again.
Borrowing Guidelines
- DIY Toolkits will only be checked out to those 18 years of age or older.
- The loan period for DIY Toolkits is four (4) weeks. This loan period may not be renewed.
- Review the DIY Energy Savings Kit Agreement.
- Patrons must read and sign the agreement and waiver at the Circulation Desk and check all items are present and in working condition (mandatory for check-out).
- Only one DIY Toolkit per person can be checked out at a time.
- Tools are items marked as property of the Thousand Oaks Library and should be returned to the Library in the same condition as when they were borrowed.
- Patrons will be held accountable for any loss or damage via future access to the DIY Energy Savings Kit.
DO NOT RETURN THE DIY HOME ENERGY KIT IN A BOOK DROP
All devices must be returned by the date due.
