About the Gallery
The Thousand Oaks Community Art Gallery, owned and operated by the City of Thousand Oaks, opened in 1991 and hosts a wide range of visual arts, exhibitions, workshops, artist presentations and special events. It showcases the work of professional and emerging artists who present an array of original imagery, artistic techniques and visual styles. Original art may also be available for purchase. Individual artists and arts organizations may rent the Gallery.
Gallery Hours & Location
Gallery hours vary with each new exhibit. For show information including hours, please contact the art group directly. The Gallery is located south of the Ventura (101) Freeway at the intersection of Borchard Road and Michael Drive, adjacent to the Newbury Park Library. See map on the right sidebar.
At this time, rather than an in-person lottery, reservations are taken on a quarterly basis, by email request, on the last Monday of the month, six months prior to the beginning of the desired reservation period, at 9:00 a.m. For example, reservations set to begin in January, February and March would be available on the last Monday in June at 9:00 a.m. Reservations made after the initial opening are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Due to the December 25th holiday, the next opportunity to request tentative reservations for July, August, and September, 2024 will be via email on Monday, December 18th, 2023, starting at 9:00 am PT. Please email your request to email@example.com. Requests are timestamped by the time received. Requests received prior to 9:00 am PT or to any other email address will not be considered. Please include the name of the organization, month / date requested and contact information.
If you are interested in reserving the Gallery, please download the forms and application [PDF]. The current rental fee is $700.00 per month plus insurance. Please arrive at the lottery with your completed application and a check for the rental. You will have 30 days to provide proof of insurance.
Renters requesting less than a full month’s rental will be considered at a prorated fee. For a full description of the City’s rental fees, policies and procedures, please see the City’s User Fee Manual or contact Debra Hoadley at firstname.lastname@example.org or (805) 480-7204.
