County and City Host Town Hall for Residents with Properties Impacted by Fires
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif - On Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., the County of Ventura in partnership with the City of Thousand Oaks will host an informational Town Hall for residents of Thousand Oaks and Oak Park who have properties impacted by the recent fires. The meeting will take place in the Thousand Oaks City Council Chambers, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd., in Thousand Oaks.
Subject matter experts will provide important information on watershed and debris flow assessments, public health concerns, debris removal, and rental assistance and local resources. County and City staff representing these areas will be available to answer questions following the presentation.
The County is scheduling additional town hall meetings for other areas affected by the fires. Information on those meetings will be released soon.
Please be aware that everyday household toxins are present in ash and debris and can present significant health hazards. While we understand that residents are eager to begin clean-up, we ask that you wait until professional hazardous material removal services are secured. More information will be available on such services at the Town Hall meetings.
As we begin the recovery process, the City of Thousand Oaks and the County of Ventura will continue to work together to get information out to all of those impacted. This includes a joint recovery website www.venturacountyrecovers.org. You can also visit www.toaks.org or follow the City of Thousand Oaks or County Facebook pages for upcoming information.
