Out of sight, out of mind. This mantra often applies to the deep sea, an environment rarely explored and still mysterious. However, a world we have barely entered is already changing. Our impact is noticeable-trawling, mining, debris, climate change, and ocean acidification. This talk will explore the habitats of the deep sea, the challenges being faced, and the potential solutions and hope for the future.
