Patron Privacy

The Thousand Oaks Library maintains patron privacy and does not sell or share personally identifiable data with third parties unless legally required to do so. In accordance with state (e.g., California Public Records Act) and federal law (e.g., USA Patriot Act of 2001), the Library recognizes its responsibility to protect library circulation records and other records that identify individual borrowers while complying with applicable laws. However, statistical reports of patron use, records of fines imposed on borrowers, and records of fines collected by the Thousand Oaks Library are considered public records.
