CA state libraryOnline content from Encyclopedia Britannica, Gale, ProQuest, and TeachingBooks.net are available — at school, at home, in libraries, on laptops, on phones — to all.

These three databases are provided for all California students from the California State Library.

Gale eResources (Grades K-12)

Gale in Content Environmental StudiesGale In Context: Environmental Studies provides detailed information on current environmental issues and processes from both a scientific and a social standpoint suitable for high school, undergrad, and graduate students. Reference works, case studies, multimedia materials, newspapers, and magazines provide a wide range of content to support all learners.

While supporting high school curricula and university coursework, Gale Interactive: Science helps students better visualize and understand concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science. Students and instructors can manipulate and explore 3D models that are paired with reference and periodical content for further understanding.

ngmkNational Geographic Kids provides access to videos, pictures, and books from National Geographic, as well as every page of National Geographic Kids magazine. for children aged 6–14.

Encyclopedia Britannica School (PreK-12)

A comprehensive interactive resource for research and learning for grades K-12. Includes correlations to California Content Standards and other valuable teacher resources.

  • You can access this area using the GOOGLE sign in option or

  • Create an Individual “My Britannica” Account (Save & Share Content):
    1. While already in the product (You see the 3 trees), click ‘Sign In to My Britannica’ at the top right of the screen.
    2. Click ‘Create an account’ and enter the requested information.
    3. Create a unique username/password (different from your school log-in.)
    4. Choose if you’re an Educator or Student, click “Create Account’ and your personal account with be created.
