Accessibility Statement

Updated: May 2026

General

The Thousand Oaks Library is committed to providing inclusive access to ensure that its services are accessible regardless of ability. We work to improve access to our online content, documents, and digital services and to reduce barriers whenever possible.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an international standard that explains how to make web content accessible. Federal regulations require that City of Thousand Oaks web applications and content comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA by April 24, 2026.

Known Limitations

The Library website features links to external sites operated by third-party vendors. While we make every effort to choose electronic content that meets accessibility standards, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of these third-party services, as they are not managed by the Thousand Oaks Library.

For core components that are not fully WCAG 2.1 AA compliant, staff will reach out to the vendor for a remediation plan and a timeline to fix the non-compliant issues.
