New Venture Ventura County

Celebrate the Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow

The New Venture Ventura County is a day celebrating students with an interest in entrepreneurship, engineering, and technology.

It’s free and open to the public. Kids and adults can learn about and participate in activities like coding, 3-D printing, and creating innovative businesses.

There are 4 main events:

The Entrepreneur Expo starts off the event. Hundreds of young entrepreneurs from around Ventura County in middle school through college have been creating business ideas in their classrooms and through the Aspire 3 Rising Entrepreneur Program. These final 40 teams will share their business plans and demonstrate product prototypes as they compete to advance to the final round in the 6th Annual Aspire 3 New Venture Challenge.

The Pitch Competition is the final round of the 6th Annual Aspire 3 New Venture Challenge where the top 8-10 teams pitch their ideas on stage to a panel of five business experts, just like on Shark Tank. Vote for your favorite team to win the People’s Choice Award and see which team will go home with the grand prize of $2,500.

The Makerspace Expo brings together students and community members who design, prototype, and create manufactured works. Makers of all ages can come learn about the Makerspaces in Ventura County and the education & equipment available, as well as get involved right away with some hands-on activities.

The NewCoding Bootcamp is all about learning coding the way developers in startups do it. Come see how easy it is to get started in coding and check out some of the projects that were created by students in our community. Students in Ventura County ages 12-22 will able to sign up for a free 6-week coding program in Summer 2018 taught by industry experts.
